A total of 6 persons hurt by firecrackers in Masbate

As per coordination with the Masbate Provincial Hospital, Masbate PNP learned that there are a total of six injured persons by firecrackers during the Christmas and New Year revelry.

Of the 6 injured persons, five of them were males identified as follows, namely: Renato C. Cruz of Crossing St., Masbate City, 34 years old; Jonifer P. Dumagpi of Mobo, Masbate, 21 years old; Asiah M. Langilao of Brgy Pating, Masbate City, 11 years old; Mark F. Ynopia of Gangao, Baleno, 8 years old; and a certain Joseph Royo; while one was female identified as Rosemarie C. So of Bituon Beach, Mobo, Masbate, 51 years old.

As per record shows that two were injured because of Kwitis, and one each because of Whistle bomb, Piccolo, Plapla. Further, disclosed that three directly lighted the firecrackers while the other three were passive observers.

With the low number of firecracker-related victims, this also means that the government is successful in the campaign for an injured-free celebration of Christmas and New Year.

As per assessment of Masbate PNP of the just-concluded Christmas and New Year revelry here in Masbate, that the entire holiday season was celebrated under generally peaceful and orderly conditions.
